Course Goals & Outcomes
By the end of the course, students in Germany can expect to:
- • Recognise common roots — Spot recurring root letters in Quranic words and see how different forms share related meanings.
- • Understand simple verse meanings — Break down short verses into words and phrases and grasp the basic message without relying only on translation.
- • Connect words to translation — Match Arabic words to their English meanings and use that to check or deepen understanding when reading.
- • Build a practical Quran vocabulary — Learn high-frequency terms that appear across the Quran so reading becomes more meaningful.
Curriculum Breakdown
The course is organised into clear areas so students know what they are learning and why.
- • Vocabulary lists — High-frequency Quranic words grouped by topic or root, with meanings and example verses.
- • Basic morphology (roots & patterns) — How Arabic words are built from three-letter roots and how patterns change meaning (e.g. verb forms, noun patterns).
- • Simple grammar — Gender, number, case, and basic sentence structure so students can follow how words work in a verse.
- • Applied reading practice — Using vocabulary and grammar to read and understand real Quranic passages with the tutor.
Teaching Methods & Practice
We use methods that work well online and keep students engaged:
- • Short drills — Quick exercises on new vocabulary or a grammar point so it sticks before moving on.
- • Translation exercises — Simple Arabic-to-English and English-to-Arabic practice so students connect words and meanings.
- • Interactive recitation with explanation — The student reads a verse (or the tutor reads); we then break it down word by word and discuss meaning and structure.
- • Screen sharing — Tutor and student see the same text so we can point to roots, patterns, and grammar in context.
Who Should Enroll
This Quranic Arabic course in Germany suits:
- • Students who want better comprehension — Those who can already read the Quran but want to understand what they are reading, not only recite.
- • Translation students — Anyone following or planning to follow a translation or tafsir course and wanting a stronger Arabic foundation.
- • Teens and adults — The pace and content are set for older learners; we can also suggest a lighter version for motivated younger students who can read the Quran.
- • Hifz students — Those memorising who want to attach meaning to the verses they are learning.
Integration with Other Courses
Quranic Arabic lessons support other Germany courses:
- • Tajweed — Understanding the meaning of words can help with correct pronunciation and pausing in the right places. Some students take Tajweed and Quranic Arabic in parallel.
- • Hifz — Memorisation becomes easier when you know what the words mean. We can align Arabic lessons with the portions your child is memorising.
- • Recitation & translation — Arabic supports both fluent recitation and any translation or tafsir study. We can suggest a weekly plan that combines Quranic Arabic with one of these courses.
- • Qaida / reading — Students who have finished Qaida and can read the script are well placed to start Quranic Arabic; we can also advise if you need more reading practice first.
Session Length & Progress Tracking
Suggested session plans — For steady progress we usually recommend 45-minute classes so there is time for vocabulary, a grammar or morphology point, and applied reading. 2–3 classes per week works well for most students in Germany; adults with busy schedules can do 1–2 per week and still move forward.
Milestone checks — We use simple milestones to track progress: e.g. completing a vocabulary list, recognising roots in a new passage, or explaining the meaning of a short verse without translation. These are not exams; they help you and the tutor see how much has been learned and what to revise or focus on next.

FAQs — Quranic Arabic in Germany
Is this Modern Standard Arabic?
No. This course teaches Quranic (Classical) Arabic—the language of the Quran. It is not the same as Modern Standard Arabic or spoken dialects. We focus on vocabulary, grammar, and structure that help you read and understand the Quran.
How quickly can students see progress?
It depends on how often you attend classes and how much you practise. Many students in Germany start recognising common roots and simple verse meanings within a few months. Deeper comprehension builds over time with regular study and applied reading.
Are lessons vocabulary-focused or grammar-focused?
We balance both. Early sessions often emphasise high-frequency Quran vocabulary and simple roots so you can connect words to translation quickly. As you progress, we introduce basic morphology (roots and patterns) and simple grammar so you can understand how words and sentences work. Applied reading practice ties vocabulary and grammar together.
