Quran Recitation course online in Birmingham
Recitation is one of six course types we teach for Birmingham (with Qaida, Tajweed, Hifz, Quran Translation and Quranic Arabic). In this course you read aloud with a steady voice, fix slips, and use tajweed in longer surahs—all one-to-one online. For children and adults who can already read but want smoother flow and clearer sound.
- Breath, tone and waqf (stopping) in real verses
- Line-by-line correction from your tutor
- UK-friendly times—evenings and weekends (GMT / BST)
- Qiraat such as Hafs explained when you need it
Recitation in Birmingham—and the other courses we run
Six separate one-to-one courses, not one mixed class
In Birmingham we teach Qaida, Tajweed, Hifz, Quran Recitation, Translation and Quranic Arabic as their own courses. Recitation is for you if you can read but want smoother flow, clearer sound, and rules used while you read surahs—not only short drills. If letters or rules are still weak, we usually suggest Qaida or Tajweed first.
Learners in Small Heath, Sparkbrook, Hall Green, Yardley and Kingstanding often book after school or after Maghrib; the lesson is live from home with the tutor listening line by line. Families in Solihull and Sutton Coldfield use the same format—only the time slot changes.

What we work on in Recitation classes
Parents in Aston, Handsworth and Harborne often ask for calmer, clearer reading for salah—not only “louder.” These three areas are what we repeat every week until they stick.
Steady sound and breath
Pacing so you do not rush or run out of air mid-ayah. We practise waqf (where to stop) so you do not break meaning.
Tajweed in connected reading
Idghaam, ikhfaa, qalqalah and ghunnah named in simple English, then drilled on the lines where you slip—not only on a rule sheet.
Longer surah runs
Build from a few ayat to half a surah so taraweeh-style reading feels normal at home, with the tutor correcting each repeat.
What you get from Recitation in Birmingham
After-school slots suit Digbeth, Bordesley Green and Acocks Green; adults in the city centre often take a later evening class after work.
Clear reading for salah
Sound and stops you are happy to use in prayer and at home—without pressure to “perform” for a crowd.
Confidence when others listen
If you lead at home or read beside family, we build stamina and fix the errors that show up when someone is listening.
Path into other courses
Need meaning as well as sound? Add Translation or Quranic Arabic as separate one-to-one classes.
Same tutor where possible
Fixed weekly slot in UK time, same voice and expectations each lesson—easier for children who need routine.
How Recitation lessons are structured
We start from what you already read, then stretch length and fix the same mistakes until they fade—whether you live in Northfield, Quinton or Castle Vale.
Hear your baseline
Short read-aloud so the tutor notes rush points, weak letters and skipped ghunnah.
Drill and repeat
Line-by-line correction, then you read the line again until the rule lands.
Stretch the length
Longer passages each week so breath and waqf feel normal, not only short drills.
Homework you can do
A clear page or surah section to read daily before the next online class.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Recitation the same as Tajweed?
Not exactly. Tajweed often works rule by rule; Recitation puts those rules into longer reading. If rules are weak, we may start you in Tajweed first.
Do you teach Hafs or other qiraat?
Most learners use Hafs. If you need another riwayah, say so when you book so we can match the tutor.
Does online recitation work from Sparkbrook or Solihull?
Yes. You log in from home; we only need your UK time and whether you want a male or female tutor.
How long until reading sounds cleaner?
It depends how often you practise between lessons. More weekly classes usually mean faster fixes on the same repeated mistakes.
